Hunter Swenson (they/them) (b. 1996) is a Colorado native and graduate from Sewanee: The University of the South (Cā€™18) majoring in Art and Philosophy. Interested, individually and their intersection, Hunter investigates queerness, performance, reverie, and utopia in their work. They explore these through photography, sculpture, light, sound, projection, and XR. Hunter Is influenced by the works of Max Neuhaus, Masao Yamamoto, James Turrell, Felipe Pantone, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, and Liz Deschenes. Theoretically, they are influenced by continental, phenomenology of reverie, contemporary political philosophy, performance studies, and women, gender, sex studies. Hunter has worked in Tennessee, Colorado, Haiti, Jamaica, and Tanzania.

As a UX Designer Hunter's area of interest resides in sound and immersive spaces. They are drawn to the use of XR as a means for community development and engagement, as well as a learning apparatus. With all design challenges, Hunter strives to make designs that are playful, data-driven, accessible, user-focused, and promote user satisfaction.
